Unauthorized Version Of Gears of War 3 Appears On The Web

July 9th, 2011 Posted in News

While gamers are patiently waiting for ‘Gears of War 3’ to be available in stores this coming September, it appears that a member of the developing team leaked a playable format of the game over the Internet. Most game developers are very particular about who they allow to play and test their games before they are unveiled, but a highly anticipated title such as ‘Gears of War 3’ likely had the help of hundreds of industry insiders. As such, it will probably be impossible for Epic Games to figure out how the leak occurred, but at least gamers will be able to get a taste of the new game.

Even though a playable version of the game is available for download, the average gamer wouldn’t have a clue as to what to do with it. Unless you are a video game developer with Xbox Development Kit loaded onto your computer or at least a similar program, the best that you can do is wait for more screenshots and demos to appear. While most video game developers fear that they will lose sales if too much details about their games emerge before go on sale, fans want to own ‘Gears of War 3’ more than ever.

Although Epic Games is trying to look on the bright side about the video game leak, they are still trying to establish how the leak occurred. If such a large security breach were to happen with one of their other titles, Epic Games could end up losing out on substantial profits.
